Raagas
CDs on raagas
Wouldn’t it be a great idea if all the raagas were compiled in a CD so that if a person is inspired to learn but doesn’t have the means or the resources can just catch hold of these CDs and get started.
Does anybody know of any such resources (esp in Hindustani or Odissi Classical Music)? I had attended classical music lessons till 4th year in India. I was wondering if it is possible to learn the remaining part on my own.
Secondly, how does it work for people outside India. I am sure even if instruments like tanpura or harmonium might be available to buy in USA,I believe they must be extremely expensive. I had heard of music boxes(I don’t know what they are called) a few years back (which had a few options of changing the scale, SA-PA and a few useful stuff like that). Are such instruments available in US too?
